Graham Shaw has operated at the highest level in digital sports publishing for 30 years, editing and managing some of the world's biggest brands.
His first digital role was as launch editor of Sportinglife.com, where he covered F1 as part of a multi-sport strategy which saw the brand become the biggest independent vertical in the UK over a 15-year period.
Shaw was also Editor-In-Chief of the Planet Sport group of websites for 9 years, including oversight of PlanetF1 (plus Football365.com, TeamTALK.com, Planetrugby.com and more. He would later return as a consultant for a four-year period between 2017 and 2021, overseeing huge audience growth for F1 with a revitalised editorial strategy.
Shaw spent 7 years in a senior editorial role at Sky Sports - having sole ownership of Sportinglife.com and the Planet Sport suite of brands - before taking up a role as Editoral Director for Goal.com - the world's biggest football website. There he managed a team of 500 journalists operating in 18 languages in 37 different territories. His editorial strategy doubled the audience to 67m monthly users within 2 years.
Shaw was promoted to the position of GM of Perform/DAZN's global portals in 2015, including Sportingnews.com in the US, Spox.de in Germany and Voetbalzone.nl in the Netherlands. He also led the strategy behind the launch of Sportingnews into the Australian and Japanese markets.
As well as being in control of that string of major brands, Shaw has also worked with a host of major governing bodies in running their local verticals. This includes working with the National Basketball Association (NBA) in Australia and Japan, the National Football League (NFL) in Germany and the PGA Tour in Japan.
Shaw is now a high-level digital consultant with a wealth of experience in managing teams and producing editorial strategies which grow audiences and revenues.
Shaw is an accomplish editorial strategist with a wealth of experience in digital publishing. He understands implicitly the crossover between F1 and a the newer audience generated by hit Netflix show 'Drive to Survive'.
As well has having worked in coverage of F1 for more than 30 years, Shaw also specialises in the business side of sport - including the TV broadcast landscape and the business side of F1.
Shaw also has a deep understanding of the way search engines dovetail with digital publishing, and works closely with SEO teams to provide a bridge to editorial coverage.
