Franco Colapinto - News

Franco Alejandro Colapinto became the first Argentine driver in F1 for 23 years when he made his debut for Williams at the 2024 Italian Grand Prix. Colapinto (born in Pilar, Buenos Aires on May 27, 2003). Franco moved to Alpine in 2025 as a reserve driver, but was handed an early opportunity to step into a race seat when the team demoted Aussie Jack Doohan. Colapinto was still awaiting his first F1 podium as he began his second season at Alpine in 2026, alongside Frenchman Pierre Gasly.
