Zo reageert de wereld op aankondiging F1 Grand Prix in Las Vegas

Afgelopen nacht werd de Grand Prix van Las Vegas aangekondigd door de Formule 1. Het wordt vanaf 2023 de derde race in Amerika, na Austin en Miami. De reacties op het nieuws waren gemengd.

Daar waar het merendeel van de mensen wel ziet dat de plek waarop geracet zal worden heel erg mooi is en voor mooie plaatjes zal zorgen, maken mensen zich wel druk om het circuit zelf. Is er genoeg mogelijkheid om in te halen? En welk circuit zal geslachtofferd worden voor Las Vegas? Blijven klassieke circuits gewoon op de kalender staan? Hieronder een paar van de reacties.

Vrijwel alles aan Las Vegas is nep, gekunsteld, patserig en zielloos. Wat dat betreft past een nachtrace daar uitstekend bij de moderne Formule 1-cultuur 🤨

@SportsSturm I’ll watch and be happy to do so, but this feels so much like they’re just pandering to us Americans on the heels of Drive to Survive with a scenic location and absolutely awful track layout.

Is it so hard just to go back to old school Circuits like Estoril, Kyalami, the Nürburgring , Hockenheimring , Sepang ?

The one thing I feared was that there weren’t going to be a lot of turns. I’ve lived in Vegas and worked on the strip and it’s not a whole lot of turns for a street circuit. Looks more like a NASCAR race but we’ll see.

I think it’s not about the shape of the track, but what it can provide/racing opportunities; overtaking and stuff. I see there’s a lot of overtaking on here

I greatly appreciate the new track and venue but is it tough to go back to classic tracks like Sepang, Hockenheim, or Valencia. Also ,the track that got proposed but never went on with the race at Vietnam??
