Sam Cook

Sam Cook is a talented young sports journalist and social media professional who specialises in Formula 1 – that's why he's one of our key F1 journalists on GPFans!

Having worked for a variety of different publications and brands including Vavel and Salford Now on a volunteer basis after graduating from the University of Salford with a first class honours in Broadcast Journalism, Sam went down a social media route, working for Manchester City and Manchester Utd producing sports content.

While still doing this on a freelance basis, Sam decided to make the switch back to journalism, where he has since excelled in writing motorsport articles and becoming part of the GPFans team!

Sam is a huge F1 fan and his earliest memories of the sport include the fantastic battles between Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso during the latter stages of Schumacher's Ferrari days. He has since enjoyed watching the rise of three more F1 legends in Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, with the 2021 world championship battle between Hamilton and Verstappen being his favourite ever F1 season.
