Russian Grand Prix: Starting grid with penalties applied

Charles Leclerc will lead the pack away for the fourth race in a row at the Russian Grand Prix as Ferrari's fine form continues in Russia.

Lewis Hamilton pulled out an impressive lap to join Leclerc on the front row and the strategy battle will be fascinating, with Mercedes starting on mediums and Ferrari on softs.

Max Verstappen out-qualified Valtteri Bottas to go fourth-fastest, but a five-place grid penalty will give the Dutchman work to do come race day.

The three remaining Honda-powered cars are also taking penalties this weekend. Pierre Gasly drops five places, with Daniil Kvyat already at the back of the grid, although he ran into further engine trouble through practice and did not qualify.

Alexander Albon crashed in qualifying and Red Bull opted to take a slew of new engine parts, as well as a new-specification floor, which forces the Thai driver to start from the pit-lane.
