Nederland komt terug op de Formule 1-kalender volgend jaar en dat maakt de nodige reacties los.

De afgelopen tijd werd er al veel gediscussieerd op social media over de terugkeer van de Nederlandse Grand Prix op Circuit Zandvoort. Nu het officieel is, gaat het uiteraard helemaal los. We nemen een aantal opvallende reacties door.

Vanzelfsprekend wordt er vooral enthousiast gereageerd in Nederland, maar ook in het buitenland zijn er genoeg fans te vinden die het een mooie toevoeging aan de kalender vinden.

The best part about the return of Zandvoort is the return of the wonderful Scheivlak corner. That is the closest thing to the old 130R corner #dutchgp #f1

Ondanks de vele positieve reacties van buitenlandse F1-fans, die het vooral ook gaaf vinden voor de Nederlandse fans, zijn er ook heel veel negatieve reacties. Veel mensen vrezen dat het een saaie race wordt vanwege de lay-out van het circuit en vragen zich af waarom de Formule 1 dit circuit toevoegt.

F1 fans: We should improve the sport with close racing and better circuits.

F1 Managment: Hold my 0.0 beer while I bring back Zandvoort to the calendar, a track 4 km long and 5 m wide with the car 2 m wide that cannot follow each other for more than 1 lap.#F1 #DutchGP

We can expect a dull, processional 'race' when #F1 returns to Zandvoort for the #DutchGP, w/ all gravel traps which actively punish driver’s mistakes replaced by acres of tarmac so they can just carry on regardless. Going back to Zandvoort just because of VER could be a mistake.

My only fear for the #DutchGP being held at #Zandvoort is the width of the track and the size of the current F1 cars.

Given that current spec cars are wide and long, it will make overtaking even harder at a track that’s notorious for its difficulty to pass. Another bore fest?

To be fair, I'm not convinced about #Zandvoort from the racing point of view at all. I hope the #DutchGP won't be a dull train of cars from start to finish with literally no space of action. #F1

I think the F1 decision to go back to the #DutchGP is just for money reasons! Guaranteed money maker and just shows where the sport it going! #MoneyOverEntertainment
