What kind of mindset is this?
Lewis Hamilton fought the reining world champion as a rookie, Charles Leclerc raced a world champion at 21. George Russell went up against the best driver in history of F1.
If you don’t want to measure yourself against better drivers how are you… https://t.co/qR3ZkL94Ws
Not a big Lando fan, Steph, but this is a bit unfair. He's basically explained that Red Bull is built around Max, and if he'd gone there, he'd be a second driver. McLaren refused to make Alonso number 1 when Lewis joined. Same thing with Ferrari and Mercedes.
You’re totally missing the point, but then again the truth doesn’t suit your agenda. As Lando said, it’s about being in a place where everything is set up for you to achieve your best. Red Bull is clearly built around Max (and why wouldn’t it be?) and it will never be an even…
Difference is Hamilton was coming through with McLaren so he wasn't going to say no to that opportunity, Leclerc was in a car that was never going to win races so why would he stay and same with Russell. Lando is in a team that is improving and could soon win races so why would h
Honestly it makes sense if he knows that McLaren can provide him with a winning car. Because at RedBull Max is No1 and everything is built around him. Sure you take these chances if you come as a Rookie or a way worse team, but seeing the current McLaren form it’s fair to stay
you’re excluding the possibility that lando thinks max is better than the lead drivers in all those situations listed above. let’s be real, no one can beat max in that red bull team. lando is better off hoping mclaren will build a better car than red bull and that way he’d win
1- all the drivers you named made a vertical leap into their respective teams and or levels of Formula racing. Lando jumping to RB isn’t as significant jump as those drivers you mentioned. 2 - why would he want to be 2 3- McLaren clears Merc 4 - not surprised coming from LH fan
