About Dan Ripley

Dan Ripley is an experienced motorsport journalist who has been covering F1 since 2010 while also reporting on other motor sport series such as MotoGP and the World Endurance Championship.

Areas of Expertise

Dan Ripley is a motorsport journalist who has vast experience covering mainly Formula 1 as well as MotoGP and the world famous Le Mans 24 hour race.

However, his career started in football, writing match reports for the Essex FA before quickly joining the MailOnline where he spent 13 years covering many sports including F1, helping lead the website's main live coverage.

As well as providing live reports, he became prolific writing in-depth features about F1 where a vast knowledge gave him the scope to report on current events as well as the sport's history. Notable features include a series on F1 circuits as well as an in-depth look across all of Michael Schumacher's wins.

Dan has interviewed big motorsport names, such as former F1 world champion Jenson Button and MotoGP champions Marc Marquez and Jorge Lorenzo. He also spoke to legendary commentator Murray Walker and led GPFans' coverage of 'Murray Walker Day' on what would have been his 100th birthday.

With a passion for motorsport, Dan eventually decided to solely focus on F1 and joined GPFans where he continues to bring valuable insight to a wide range of F1 fans old and new.
