F1 Japanese Grand Prix confirmed starting grid
Max Verstappen clinched pole position for the Japanese Grand Prix to set up a shot at his second F1 world title.
The Dutchman will leave Suzuka as a two-time world champion if he scores the victory while also securing the point for the fastest lap.
Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz line up behind Verstappen with the two Alpine drivers sandwiching Lewis Hamilton who starts sixth.
Conditions have been mixed so far this weekend with rain falling on Friday and both Saturday sessions taking place on a dry track.
Rain is again forecast for the race itself and that could once again shake up the order.
