F1 drivers - are they overworked at a race weekend?

Schedules have ramped up despite weekend cut back

GPFans Staff

The weekend format for the drivers has changed this year yet they continue to moan about their lot.

In a bid to cut back on workload, F1 axed the once traditional media day on Thursday, and instead, the drivers now conduct set FIA group sessions on Friday morning.

Yet for many, this is still not good enough, with the likes of reigning F1 champion Max Verstappen complaining little has changed on a Thursday given other commitments and the days have become longer, notably Friday, and in a year which has a record number of races.

When you consider the drivers are paid considerable sums of money to do what they love, their gripes regarding the peripheral areas of their work seem trivial.

So our question today is...

Are F1 drivers overworked at a race weekend?
