Magnussen and Schumacher can "benefit from each other" at Haas
Mick Schumacher and Kevin Magnussen will "benefit from each other" at Haas this year, according to the German.
Magnussen rejoined the team ahead of the final pre-season test as the replacement for ousted Nikita Mazepin having spent a year away from F1 in sportscar racing.
The move means Haas is able to pair second-year Schumacher with the experience of the Dane, who made his debut with McLaren in 2014.
But with Schumacher's experience of Haas last season and through the winter, he was asked if he could help his new team-mate as much as he could learn.
“I think we should both benefit from each other and bring the team forwards," said Schumacher.
"This is what matters right now.”
On whether the pair had spoken about how they can learn from each other, Schumacher replied: “Not directly, but I think indirectly we all know who is worth for what let’s say.
"Obviously, Kevin has a lot of experience in F1. He can probably guide the team in a direction that I might not just yet, but I think if we both do the right job and work in the same direction there is no reason for us not to be successful in that.”
“Now I do have a reference which is good. It’s not only about driving but now you have to put everything together to succeed and that is what essentially is Formula 1. You want to be under pressure, you want to be able to perform under pressure.
“To have that pressure now within the team is positive.”
