Fans spuwen gal over 'afschuwelijke' beker in Frankrijk

De trofee die Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen en Kimi Räikkönen overhandigd kregen op het podium in Frankrijk, deed bij menig fan de wenkbrauwen fronsen. De beker bestond uit een grote zilveren poot met daarop een agressief ogende gorilla die een Pirelli-band boven zijn hoofd houdt. De aapsoort was geverfd in de kleuren van de Franse vlag. Het verhaal achter de 'unieke' beker is wat onduidelijk en dus spuwen fans hun gal op social media. "Deze trofee... de grootste grap van het seizoen", zo luidt één van de reacties.
