Mercedes struggle - will it force a three-way F1 title fight with Ferrari and Red Bull this year?
Mercedes finds itself in the unusual position of playing catch up this season as it has so far failed to adapt to the new aerodynamic regulations as comfortably as Ferrari and Red Bull.
Trackside engineering director Andrew Shovlin has confirmed the W13 has a deficit to its rivals in both qualifying and race trim, albeit with a cushion to a gaggle of closely-matched midfield runners behind.
After being accustomed to leading the way, however, over the past eight years, this is new territory for Mercedes who cannot spend its way out of trouble given the budget cap.
So the question in our daily poll today is: will Mercedes find a way to eventually force a three-way title fight with Ferrari and Red Bull.
