Verstappen: Red Bull know how to improve in 2020
Has 2019 been a disappointment?
Max Verstappen says Red Bull have plenty of ideas as to how to hit the ground running in the 2020 Formula 1 campaign after another season of ups and downs in 2019.
While Mercedes have been running away with the constructors’ championship, which was won last weekend at the Japanese Grand Prix, Red Bull have been struggling to balance power and aerodynamics, particularly after the introduction of the new front wing design for the campaign.
They have managed to win two races this season in Austria and Germany, via Verstappen, but have more often than not been off the pace against Mercedes initially and now Ferrari.
The Dutchman thinks the team have identified ways to improve, however.
“Everyone gives 100 percent, and everyone tries to get the best out of it,” he told Verstappen.nl
“Only this year it seemed, maybe because of the new front wing, a bit more difficult for us. That is what we have to look at this winter. Of course, we have many ideas for next year to improve.”

Verstappen believes Red Bull have did well to solve problems which have arisen with the car throughout this season, but is hoping the amount of issues will decline from winter testing through to the start of 2020.
“Some things worked well this year, others not so good,” he added.
“But there are always things we can do better. I think we know what did not go so well and we took measures for next year, we will see.”
With four races remaining in Mexico, the United States, Brazil, and Abu Dhabi, Red Bull are 289 points behind Mercedes in third place in the constructor rankings.
