Ferrari undergoes behind-the-scenes reshuffle

Ferrari has undertaken a behind-the-scenes reshuffle in order to combat what it sees as "the many challenges" it faces over the coming years.

Following the imposition of a budget cap from this year, and with wide-sweeping new regulations coming into force from next season, Ferrari insists it "requires absolute focus on the technical and racing priorities with the definition of very clear roles and responsibilities".

To that end, there will now be four key personnel reporting into team principal and managing director Mattia Binotto - Enrico Cardile [chassis], Enrico Gualtieri [power unit], Laurent Mekies [racing] and Gianmaria Fulgenzi [supply chain].

The chassis department, in particular, will be organised into four main areas, with the aim "of being more effective and efficient in the pursuit of maximum performance".

Cardile will specifically oversee the area of 'chassis performance engineering', with the other three departments being 'vehicle concept' [David Sanchez], 'chassis project engineering' [Fabio Montecchi] and 'vehicle operations' [Diego Ioverno].

Ferrari has confirmed that race track engineering activity will be integrated into the chassis performance engineering department.

Additionally, Ferrari has also stated that "with a view to maximising business opportunities", the commercial, marketing and events department will now be part of the Brand Diversification Area, led by Nicola Boari.
