Arrivabene offers support to Ferrari
The old boss remains a fan.
Former Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivabene has offered support to the Scuderia amid a difficult start to the 2019 season which has seen Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas streak clear in the championship after five-straight one-two finishes.
Arrivabene was replaced by Mattia Binotto for the 2019 season, although Binotto combining team principal and technical director roles has been criticised by some as Ferrari have failed to make good on pre-season promise.
Ferrari made steady progress under Arrivabene, although his leadership style was also called into question, especially in 2018 as Ferrari pushed Mercedes close, although the challenge ultimately fizzled out.
Far from bitter about his exit in January, Arrivabene says he remains a Ferrari fan and hopes they can turn the tables.
He told Sky Sport Italia: "I committed myself to the maximum I gave everything I could, and in difficult moments I had voluntary silences, which I still maintain today.
"If I talk it is only to invite everyone to support the team, all the guys, because I have always thought, even when I was working in Maranello, that it is easy to get on the wagon when the podiums arrive, but it is much less to support the team in difficult times.
"I want to say Forza Ragazzi, the heart and the mind are with you, and I hope that all the fans do the same thing. The championship is still long."
