Lewis Hamilton has expressed his gratitude for the support of his 'oldest fan' after meeting 105-year-old supporter Len.

Len and son David were given a special treat when Mercedes recently organised a conversation with the seven-time champion following his 100th F1 victory in the Russian Grand Prix.

David said: "Lewis, you absolutely amaze us every time you race. We're so proud to be British and that you're British", with their pride enhanced by the fact he thanks his team after winning.

In response, Hamilton said: "Thank you. I grew up in a normal town. I know I couldn't have got here on my own.

"My parents and everything they sacrificed and now I have this huge group of people behind me who are not in the limelight, they're not all at the track.

"For me, it is important for them to know that I know I couldn't have had this result if it wasn't for them."

Len finished by saying: "I will be thinking of you in the future, I hope you have a really good future."
