Valtteri Bottas has become known for his love of a good espresso before taking to the track but last week the Finn took this to an extreme.
Many people around the world start the day with a cup of coffee to pick them up ahead of a busy day, but for Bottas on Sunday, coffee became his day when acting as a judge in the Finnish Aeropress coffee making championships.
Far from simply enjoying just one espresso, Bottas revealed ahead of the Turkish Grand Prix: “In two hours I tried at least 27 different coffees and I didn’t spit it out, so it was nice.
"I felt lots of energy afterwards.”
Responding simply "no," when asked if he had slept well after such a large dose of caffeine, Bottas laid out his judging credentials.
“The Finnish AeroPress coffee-making championships were in my hometown where I am from last weekend and I got an invitation to be one of the judges," added Bottas. "I was one of the three judges and it was a pretty nice experience.
“Obviously, I have been tasting coffee quite a bit since I am part of one roastery in Finland so I know a little bit about coffee."
With tricky conditions expected in Istanbul, we can only imagine which blend Bottas has selected for the coming weekend.
