Grosjean reveals full extent of hand injuries from horrific Bahrain accident

Grosjean missed the final two races of his F1 career after suffering the burns to his hands

Former Haas driver Romain Grosjean has revealed the extent of the injuries he suffered to his hands in his horrific accident at last year's Bahrain Grand Prix.

Grosjean escaped his lap one Bahrain crash with only burns to his hands after his Haas struck the barriers on the exit of turn three, leaving the car wedged. The impact ripped the car in two as the fuel cell exploded.

The injuries sustained meant the Frenchman had to sit out of what would have been his final two Formula 1 races in order to allow for his hands to fully heal.

With his hand dressings now completely off, the extent of his injuries have now been revealed in a post on social media.

As of yet, Grosjean has not given any update as to his next step in motor racing, although has made it clear he would want a private Formula 1 test in order to close that chapter of his life in a positive manner.

In the aftermath of the incident, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff stepped forward with an offer that would allow Grosjean to test one of the German manufacturer's championship winning cars.
