F1 team principals pick 2019's top 10 drivers

Formula 1's team principals (bar Ferrari's Mattia Binotto!) have picked their top 10 drivers of the 2019 campaign, with a familiar name in top spot.

Yep, the nine bosses that don't wear red reckon Lewis Hamilton was the star performer on the grid this year, which seems fair enough!

Using the F1 points system used in races – 25 for 1st, 18 for 2nd and so on – the team principals listed their 10 best performers of the year, but the top 10 of the drivers' championship ends up looking rather different.

Neither Lando Norris or George Russell made the top 10 of the championship standings, while the Williams man was the only driver not to score a point in F1 this season, but both are recognised for impressive rookie campaigns.

Valtteri Bottas was Hamilton's closest rival in F1 this year, but the Finn is a distant fourth in this ranking, with Max Verstappen pushing the Mercedes man close.

Here's how those in charge on racedays in F1 ranked the best performers – in their eyes – in F1 this season.

DRIVER POINTS
Lewis Hamilton 169
Max Verstappen 146
Charles Leclerc 124
Valtteri Bottas 68
Sebastian Vettel 58
Alexander Albon 57
Carlos Sainz 55
Daniel Ricciardo 49
George Russell 41
Lando Norris 38
