Formula 1 pre-season testing is underway at the Bahrain International Circuit with all 10 teams eager to make the most of the limited three-days of running.

On the first day of testing, 17 drivers will be on show including all three rookie drivers - Mick Schumacher, Nikita Mazepin and Yuki Tsunoda - and Williams test driver Roy Nissany.

Lewis Hamilton will be in action for the first time on Friday afternoon despite team-mate Valtteri Bottas completing only extremely limited running in the morning after a gearshift issue forced the team into making a precautionary gearbox change.

GPFans has compiled a gallery of images from the first day of pre-season testing.

Bottas was left stranded in the garage for the majority of the morning after an early gearshift issue.
Red Bull had been keen to hide its developments in its promotional material. Everything was on show in Bahrain however.
Vettel stopped at the end of the pits but had shown promising pace early on.

Ricciardo got off to a promising start for McLaren, setting the early pace of the test.
The bulging airbox on the Alpine was the subject of much conversation throughout the morning.
Williams gave test driver Roy Nissany a full day of running in the FW43B.
Leclerc spent the majority of Friday morning on the hardest available compound.
