Lewis Hamilton's long association with Mercedes has helped him build up quite the garage of impressive rides. His latest appears to be another beauty after he shared an image of his latest new car in an Instagram post – a mean-looking Mercedes-AMG GT R.

Hamilton thanked Mercedes Benz's USA division for providing his new ride as he spends part of his off-season break Stateside.

The GT R is priced from £145,730, but we reckon the five-time world champion's version might just have a few optional extras added in there.

According to Mercedes, the GT R is "designed by racing experts, developed for everyday exhilaration", ensuring the hairs on Hamilton's neck will still be raised in the long winter months without F1 action.

The car is fitted with a 4.0-litre biturbo V8 engine to provide enough grunt, but it all comes in a most comfortable setting, with number of swish-looking interior packages available.
