Kubica given another FP1 run in Hungary
The Pole has already been behind the wheel of an Alfa Romeo this season after featuring in the practice session last week in Austria
Robert Kubica will feature in the first free practice session of the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend for Alfa Romeo on Friday.
The former Williams driver was given his first run of the season last weekend in FP1 of the Styrian GP, taking control of Antonio Giovinazzi’s C39.
On Friday, however, he will switch to Kimi Raikkonen’s car, with the Finn set to take his place back for FP2 onwards.
Even though missing a session may be detrimental to Raikkonen’s preparations, Alfa Romeo insist it is vital that Kubica can be given the opportunity to provide car feedback.
"Developing the C39 quickly and effectively will be one of the key aspects of the midfield battle," team principal Fred Vasseur suggested.
"And Robert is one of the biggest assets the team has on its side.
"He did a thoroughly fine job in Austria last week and I am happy to have him in the car once more.
"The data he provided our engineers have already proven valuable, but there is a lot of work still to be done and having three great drivers to receive information from is a definite advantage."

For Kubica, who made his debut at the Hungaroring in 2006, he is just happy that he gets another shot at driving a F1 car, and hopes to continue to be an asset to his new team.
"Driving one of these cars is always an incredible feeling and therefore I can't wait for Friday,” he said.
"Emotions aside, we cannot forget how crucial car development is, especially in this compressed 2020 season.
"The team needs data and feedback and providing as much valuable information is what I am here for.
"We had a productive weekend last time out and my aim is to help the team make another step forward here in Hungary."
After two the opening two races of the season, Alfa Romeo are eighth in the constructors’ championship, with only Williams and Haas in behind currently.
