Today we say goodbye to Sir Stirling Moss, the racing legend. I think it’s important that we celebrate his incredible life and the great man he was. Saying goodbye is never easy and can be sad but he will always be here, in our memories and will always be such a huge part of British Motorsports Heritage. I certainly will miss our conversations. To be honest, it was such a unusual pairing, our friendship. Two people from massively different times and backgrounds but we clicked and ultimately found that the love for racing we both shared made us comrades. I am truly grateful to have had these special moments with him. Sending my prayers and thoughts to his family. May he rest in peace🙏🏾

Very sorry to hear of Sir Stirling Moss’ passing. I have a few nice memories with him over the past few years which I thought I’d share: (1) I took this photo at @goodwoodrevival where he was sitting on his own, just enjoying the racing. (2) Later his wife Susie & he were in great form at the ball! (3) At the @fosgoodwood one year, his helmet wasn’t done up properly and he shouted at me “Come here dear boy - strap me up will you”! Perhaps my favourite memory was going to Stirling’s house once and all his scrap books had just come back from the RAC. We spent 2 wonderful hours just going through them as he recanted some amazing stories. What an amazing character and driver... The greatest never to have won the World Championship. My deepest condolences to Susie and the rest of his family and friends. #RIPStirling #OneofTheGreats

Piero Ferrari 🔴 “Stirling Moss symbolised motor sport. He was a true personality who left an indelible impression on the history of racing. His versatility meant he was able to win in so many different categories, from Formula 1 to sports car endurance races. He also produced incredible performances in road races such as the Mille Miglia, setting a record that was never beaten. Despite not winning the Formula 1 World Championship, he is most definitely a legendary figure and he was a fearsome and formidable rival of Ferrari in Formula 1 and many other categories. His and Ferrari’s paths were about to merge when he had the accident at Goodwood in April 1962 that effectively ended his racing career, at least at a high level. At the time, in Maranello.”
