Verstappen on record-breaking Red Bull: It's crazy!

Max Verstappen says Red Bull's record-breaking exploits in pit-stops this year have been crucial to his recent successes.

Red Bull serviced Verstappen in just 1.88 seconds during the German Grand Prix, setting a new world record for the quickest pit-stop in F1 history – a record they had also set two weeks prior in the British GP.

The Dutchman was victorious at Hockenheim after his rapid pit-stop, having also won in Austria to reach the summer break as arguably the form driver on the grid.

And Red Bull's continued push to make small gains has impressed their star driver.

"It's crazy," Verstappen said in an interview with Red Bull's website. "They were very crucial.

"It was impressive to see that even in those demanding conditions they were still able to break the world record."

Verstappen secured his maiden pole position in Hungary before the break and has fought closer to the front in recent races, having spent much of his Red Bull career having to fight through the front-runners due to their lack of straight-line speed.

Whether leading from the front or battling through his rivals, Verstappen accepts the challenge.

"I'm not there to try and make a big show out of it, I'm just trying to get the best result," he said.

"When we've qualified P4 or P5 you have to overtake people in the race, and that automatically creates action, I like fighting on the track and fighting hard for a victory.

"It has been boring, but lately we've had some good ones, which is better for the fans. I take the fight to the other drivers and I think fans like that."
