Hamilton might yet score points from German GP...

Even though he finished 11th.

Alfa Romeo were referred the the German Grand Prix stewards after data from Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi's cars was found to be non-compliant with the regulations, potentially opening the door for Lewis Hamilton to salvage points from a nightmare outing.

Hamilton finished 11th at Hockenheim, his race having suddenly unravelled near to mid-distance when he spun in the final sector and swiped off half of his front wing.

The Mercedes man had led the entire race up to that point but dropped to fifth after a slow stop and was then saddled with a five-second penalty, having gone the wrong way around the bollard at pit-entry.

After a further round of safety-car induced pit-stops, Hamilton served his penalty and emerged 12th, dropping to last after another spin.

He clambered back to 11th by the chequered flag.

If the Alfas are deemed to have broken regulations, and both are disqualified or given a time penalty, Hamilton could be elevated to ninth as Raikkonen and Giovinazzi finished seventh and eighth respectively.

It would also lift Robert Kubica to 10th - an incredibly unlikely point-scorer.
