Dutch GP organisers fighting ticket touts

Dutch Grand Prix organisers have warned against fans purchasing tickets for next year's race from third-party sellers after Tuesday's allocation of admissions.

Over one million applications were made for Zandvoort's return to the F1 calendar, with those applications put into a draw for the allocation of tickets.

The circuit is expected to hold 105,00 spectators, although the rush for tickets has prompted organisers to seek out the possibility of expanding.

Not all those who applied have eyes on travelling to the event, however, with Dutch selling site Marktplaats particularly awash with tickets, some being sold many times above face value.

Race chief Jan Lammers says that anyone turning up with a resold ticket will not make it through the gates.

"I wish everyone who buys tickets at Marktplaats a lot of success," he told NOS. "They will stand in front of a closed door. They will find out how we pick those tickets out."

Lammers has previously stressed that more tickets will be available to purchase through official channels before next year's race due to returns and other applicants opting not to take up their tickets.
