F1 confirm Drive to Survive season two on Netflix
Formula 1 has confirmed that the documentary series 'Drive to Survive' will return to Netflix for a second season in 2020.
The 2018 campaign was chronicled for the first series, which was released just before the current season begun, in an attempt to attract new and lapsed fans to the sport.
The programme was warmly received by die-hard fans and those unfamiliar with F1 alike, lifting the lid on stories such as Red Bull and Renault's squabbles over engine supply, Daniel Ricciardo's huge switch between those two teams and Charles Leclerc's ascension to Ferrari.
The Scuderia, and title rivals Mercedes, were conspicuous by their absence in series one, as both turned down access in order to focus on their title battle.
However, both will be featured in series two, meaning fans will get an insight into Lewis Hamilton's apparent romp to a sixth title and Sebastian Vettel's deterioration.
"We are thrilled to once again be working with Netflix on the second series of Drive to Survive," said Ian Holmes, Director of Media Rights at Formula 1.
"It is a truly unique series which allows fans to see the unseen side of F1, showcasing the personalities and emotions each team and driver goes through, both on and off the grid.
"Drive to Survive has enabled us to reach an entire new fanbase globally and partnering with Netflix for a second season ensures we are continuing to put fans at the heart of what we do and make the sport more open and accessible to all."
