Binotto: FIA's Vettel decision bad for F1 fans
The Ferrari boss still on the defensive.
Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto criticised the FIA's decision to reject their request to have Sebastian Vettel's Canadian Grand Prix penalty reviewed.
Stewards met with Ferrari to review new evidence, which the team suggested would convince them to look into the matter again.
Vettel had been punished for rejoining the track unsafely during the Montreal race, earning a five-second penalty which gave victory to Lewis Hamilton, despite Vettel crossing the line first.
Ferrari's new evidence, which sporting director Laurent Mekies would "overwhelmingly" prove Vettel's innocence, amounted to a piece of analysis from Sky Sports' Karun Chandhok and a camera angle facing Vettel's cockpit.
Still Binotto saw fit to criticise the move, making a brief statement after FP2 at the French GP.

"Without commenting much on the decision, I think that no doubt as Ferrari we are all very unhappy and disappointed," he said.
"We are disappointed certainly for Ferrari but we are disappointed for the fans of our sport. And I do not intend to comment any further."
Binotto dodged further questions about the matter, including a request to review Mekies' comments earlier in the day, which were brought into something of an embarrassing light when the FIA published its findings.
