Lando Norris started the second half of the 2026 F1 season in the exact same way he ended the first half, taking a resounding victory.

The McLaren driver took the win ahead of the Mercedes duo of Kimi Antonelli and George Russell, with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc just fractions of a second off the podium.

Where was Max Verstappen at his final home grand prix? Sitting in the garage for most of it, after crashing heavily on the first lap to end his day in dramatic fashion.

There were a smattering of penalties applied during the race - Franco Colapinto and Arvid Lindblad both getting drive-through penalties for yellow flag infringements - and three more applied after the chequered flag to Carlos Sainz, Liam Lawson and Colapinto (again).

Sainz's was for a collision late in the race with team-mate Alex Albon, while Lawson and Colapinto were both pinged for yellow flag infringements. Apparently Colapinto didn't learn from the first one.

When is the next F1 race?

Now that we're back from the summer break, the next F1 race will be held in two weeks' time, with teams reconvening at Monza for the Italian Grand Prix, with track action starting on Friday, September 4th.

The first practice session will kick off the day at 12:30 local time (CEST), before FP2 at 16:00 CEST (that's 11:30 and 15:00 if you're in the UK).

The final practice session and qualifying will take place on Saturday, September 5th before the race itself on Sunday, September 6th – the 13th round of the championship kicking off at 15:00 local, or 14:00 BST.
