Lewis Hamilton has admitted that he and his Ferrari team are not yet sure what caused his disappointing sprint qualifying session at the Dutch Grand Prix on Friday.

The Brit came into the weekend as one of the favourites in the field, but could only qualify seventh for Saturday's sprint race, more than six tenths off the pace of polesitter George Russell, and more than half a second behind team-mate Charles Leclerc.

Carlos Sainz issued a brutally honest statement about his Williams 2026 car, just 24 hours after signing a blockbuster new deal with the iconic F1 team.

On Wednesday, Sainz committed his future to the team on a massive multi-year deal which is believed to be worth 30million Euro per season. The deal also contains exit clauses, per multiple reports

That news came after weeks of speculation about the future of Sainz, with the 31-year-old Spaniard being linked with Audi and Red Bull among others.

Fernando Alonso suffers more misery at Dutch Grand Prix as Aston Martin confirm car issue

Aston Martin have confirmed that Fernando Alonso suffered a major car issue during F1 Sprint qualifying at the Dutch Grand Prix on Friday afternoon.

Alonso and Aston Martin have had their fair share of issues to contend with so far this season, but there was optimism heading to Zandvoort, with further aerodynamic upgrades after that huge overhaul in Hungary and a new spec Honda engine.

In FP1, Alonso finished 12th, and it appeared that things were continuing to head in the right direction for the two-time world champion and his team.

However, Alonso then exited sprint qualifying in SQ1, finishing last of all 22 drivers.

Former Williams driver makes six-figure investment in new 'Sports Tinder' app

A former Williams F1 development driver has announced a £100k investment into a new app, dubbed 'Sports Tinder'.

Le Mans GTE Pro class winner Alex Lynn, who was a Williams development driver in 2015 and 2016, is now involved with the Pacer app, which told City AM that its users will not 'initially sign up looking for romance', before going on to point out the app's potential for developing a social sporting connection into something more.
