Verstappen and Newey "100%" at Red Bull in 2021
Red Bull boss Christian Horner has confirmed both Max Verstappen and Adrian Newey will be with the team in 2021.
Speculation had recently surfaced that a clause in Verstappen's contract, with an extension signed at the start of the year running through to 2023, would allow him to leave if the team failed to reach certain performance targets this season.
Despite a recent run of six consecutive podiums, Verstappen endured frustrating power unit issues in the races at Monza and Mugello to add to his retirement in the season-opening grand prix in Austria.
Horner, though, has made it clear Verstappen will not be going anywhere. He said: "The contract between the driver and the team is always going to be confidential, and there will always be speculation regarding it.
"But I'm 100% certain Max Verstappen will be in a Red Bull Racing car next year."
As for chief technical officer Newey, his involvement with the F1 team is not as in-depth as it once was as other projects have taken up his time, such as the launch of the Valkyrie.
There have been rumours of Newey being lured away by Lawrence Stroll to join a team that becomes Aston Martin from next year.
But again, a dismissive Horner added: "The situation with Adrian, he's been with us for 14 years, he's very happy within the team, he enjoys working with the environment.
"He's obviously taken more of a step back in recent years, but he's still motivated, and he'll absolutely be with the team next year, without any doubt."
