Raikkonen in physical altercation with fan at Spa
Kimi Raikkonen was involved in an altercation with a fan in the paddock at the Belgian Grand Prix.
The Alfa Romeo driver was unharmed by the supporter, who the Finn claims accosted him after sampling a few too many drinks behind the scenes at Spa-Francorchamps.
It seems Raikkonen's legendary placid nature perhaps saved the fan from a more severe fate, as he recounted the incident with half a smile.
"I was walking and, I don't know, he was a bit drunk and he was waving his hands," Raikkonen told Ziggo Sport.
"He came in front of me and started waving his hands and hit my glasses. I told him what the fuck he was doing, but he was a bit tipsy too.
"I don't know what he was doing."
Former Ferrari driver, and fellow Finn, Mika Salo offered a somewhat more dramatic account, telling MTV: "I almost had to stop a fight."
Raikkonen emerged as a doubt for the weekend in Belgium, having returned from his summer break nursing a leg-muscle injury he said was sustained while playing sport.
Marcus Ericsson has been drafted in as cover, forgoing his duties for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports in this weekend's Portland IndyCar round.
However, Raikkonen got through Friday's practice sessions unscathed and seems likely to compete across the weekend.
