Grosjean reveals 'f*** off' mindset during Magnussen collisions
Romain Grosjean insists that when you are driving at supremely high-speed in intense conditions, there isn’t time for pleasantries, saying after collisions that he has a “f*** off” mindset rather than a negotiating one.
Over the past few races, Grosjean and team-mate Kevin Magnussen have got into crashes, one of which at Silverstone caused both of them to retire. After it happened again at the German Grand Prix, Haas boss Guenther Steiner reprimanded them and warned of repercussions if it continued.
In terms of their team-mate dynamic, Grosjean insists that there is no problem between him and Magnussen, but that when the adrenaline is high the drivers go into a defensive frame of mind.
“Our relationship is good.” the Frenchman said.
“When you're driving at 300kph obviously you're not going to be like:
“'Oh please I think I was right and he was wrong. Would you mind giving me the position back. But if I may, please.’
“You're going to say 'f*** off just give me the position'.
“So, unless you want us to be very boring or remove the microphone from the helmet, then it's always going to happen.”

Grosjean reckons that because everything is broadcast in Formula 1, compared to say football, then the smallest comment can be blown out of proportion.
“On a football pitch you don't have a microphone. Inside a football team, between the players, they can say things like they're not happy with each other and there's not any issue,” he continued.
“In Formula 1 I think it is great everything is broadcast but it can also make a story out of nothing.”
Magnussen, sitting along from Grosjean at the press conference, echoed his team-mate’s comments, saying there is no issue with them on or off the track.
