Hamilton won't allow Netflix to show him at German GP
Lewis Hamilton says he will not allow footage of him at the German Grand Prix to be aired on Netflix's 'Drive to Survive' show if it shows him while he was ill at Hockenheim.
Netflix were granted access to Mercedes for one race this season, and chose the Silver Arrows' home event.
The producers hit the jackpot as Mercedes celebrated 125 years in motorsport and 200 grands prix with a one-off livery and special costumes over a weekend which descended into misery on-track.
Hamilton twice spun off the circuit, damaging his front wing the first time and diving into the pits where the crew were waiting to service his team-mate Valtteri Bottas, who later crashed out.
Team boss Toto Wolff lamented: "We have given the Netflix guys more content than on any other weekend."
Mercedes blocked access to the Netlfix crew while they shot the first season of Drive to Survive last year and it seems Hamilton may employ similar tactics, having endured his most miserable weekend of the season so far in Hockenheim.
"I won’t be in the Netflix show much, because I was sick the whole time," he said. "I won’t allow them to release that."
Hamilton finished 11th on-track, having asked Mercedes to retire after the second of his off-track excursions.
Having been told to remain on-track, he was bumped up to P9 post-race after Alfa Romeo received penalties.
