Should F1 do more to protect 'historic races'?

The F1 calendar continues to grow but as circuits from the United States and the Middle East join, more of the traditional European races have come under threat.

Las Vegas and Qatar will join the F1 schedule next year with China and South Africa also looking to make returns.

Over the next few years, this means that a number of European races could drop off the calendar with France, Belgium and Monaco the races currently in danger and at the end of their existing contracts.

Red Bull team principal Chrisitan Horner has demanded that F1 protects the historically significant races such as those at Spa Francorchamps, Monza and Silverstone but is he correct to do so?
