Is the FIA right to change the F1 pit exit rules?

F1 race director Niels Wittich has confirmed a tweak to the pitlane regulations ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix with drivers now permitted to ride the line on entry and exit.

Up until this weekend's Baku race, the FIA race director's notes had detailed that drivers must remain to one side of the line on pit exit.

Touching or crossing the line would previously have resulted in a penalty but due to a change in the International Sporting Code ahead of the current campaign, this is no longer the case.

Instead, drivers are permitted to ride the line so long as no tyre completely crosses the boundary.

The clarification was offered after Ferrari protested both Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez in Monaco.

But is the FIA right to make this change? Let us know your thoughts!
