F1 2022: First day of testing in pictures
Pre-season testing is underway at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
The new era of F1 has begun with teams taking to the track at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for the first pre-season session of the 2022 season.
Max Verstappen began his title defence when leaving the garage for a full day of running on Wednesday as Red Bull revealed the true RB18 for the first time.
The Dutchman was joined on track by George Russell in the Mercedes W13 in the morning session with Lewis Hamilton scheduled to take over driving duties in the afternoon.
Robert Kubica is the only reserve driver taking part in the first test of the year with his time behind the wheel limited to the Wednesday morning session.
