Wolff and Horner in "harmony" at F1 Commission meeting

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff and Red Bull counterpart Christian Horner were in "harmony" during Monday's F1 Commission meeting.

That was the viewpoint of new FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem who oversaw the meeting that involved world motorsport's governing body, F1 and the 10 teams.

Ben Sulayem was presenting the initial findings of the FIA's inquiry into the events of last season's controversial ending to the campaign in Abu Dhabi.

That saw the decisions of race director Michael Masi have a direct bearing on the destiny of the drivers' title as Red Bull's Max Verstappen beat Lewis Hamilton in his Mercedes to the crown.

Alongside one of the greatest championship battles in F1 history, team bosses Wolff and Horner were often at loggerheads with one another, going so far as to exchange insults on occasion.

Ben Sulayem, though, was pleased to see a more cordial approach from the duo across the meeting that failed to yield the hoped-for way forward for race control, with the findings now due later this week.

“They were in line," said Ben Sulayem, speaking to Sky Sports News. "They were close to each other and they were in a good mood.

“I expected more entertainment but it was good to see the harmony between them.”
