Verstappen - Red Bull must "nail" final F1 triple-header

Max Verstappen has urged Red Bull to "nail" the final triple-header of the Formula 1 season that begins with this weekend's Mexican Grand Prix.

Verstappen holds a 12 point lead over Lewis Hamilton as the year reaches a climax with five races in just six weeks.

With races in Mexico and Brazil starting the run at circuits that have historically favoured Red Bull, the Dutchman expressed the importance of taking the most out of the upcoming events.

"I’m looking forward to it and I’m excited to get going, although I know the triple header is going to be busy," said Verstappen.

"It’s incredibly important for myself and the team to try and nail the next three races now that we are fighting for the championship.

"There will be a lot of travelling time and time differences but I’m looking forward to being back on track in Mexico and Brazil and I’m looking forward to the challenge of racing on the new track in Qatar."

Verstappen has twice claimed victory in Mexico, winning back-to-back races in 2017-18, and has started from the front row in each of F1's past three visits to the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.

"I have good memories from racing in Mexico with my two race wins," Verstappen added.

"I’m looking forward to racing here again especially after not being able to travel here for a while.

"I know we will have a lot more fans now with Checo in the team too so I’m looking forward to seeing all of them at the track and of course hopefully we can have a competitive weekend."
