Are esports the way forward for motorsport, or simply a nice aside?

The GPFans F1 Podcast returns with host Sam Hall joined by Formula 1 correspondent Ian Parkes and the official commentator for the McLaren Shadow project, Jake Sanson.

In this edition, the team talk about esports and how the unscheduled break from real-world racing has moved the world of simulation racing into the foreground. Lando Norris and Max Verstappen were known for having a keen interest in esports, but did you know that a certain six-time champion is also a regular in the virtual world?

Joining podcast regulars Hall and Parkes, Jake Sanson unleashes his wealth of esports knowledge and explains his own unique esports competition, based on a retro '90s computer game.
