Verstappen won't choose between Albon, Gasly for 2020 Red Bull seat
Max is leaving the decision to the team.
Max Verstappen says he will not have any say over whether Alexander Albon or Pierre Gasly, or any other driver, partners him at Red Bull in 2020.
Verstappen has had three team-mates in less than a year, with Gasly struggling to adapt after replacing Daniel Ricciardo and being demoted back to Toro Rosso, which saw Albon put into the senior squad after just 12 races in Formula 1.
The Thai driver has started positively, securing top-six finishes in his first three races, and is likely the leading candidate for the seat, with Dr Hemut Marko having confirmed in Singapore that it is Albon and Gasly under consideration, with Daniil Kvyat set to remain at Toro Rosso.
Discussing his start to life alongside Albon, Verstappen said: "I enjoy working with him, he's very relaxed. But it's no different to Pierre. I also really liked working with Pierre. He's also a really nice guy.
"I'm actually really happy that Pierre, now at Toro Rosso, he had a good performance in Singapore, so for sure that makes him also more comfortable.
"But coming back to Alex, so far, I think we drive the car in pretty similar ways. Everyone has their own style, but I think we are both looking for the same thing. That is also important for the team."
Discussing his role in selecting his 2020 team-mate, the Dutchman added: "It's up to them [Red Bull's hierarchy]. I'm not the deciding factor.
"I also don't want to be at the end of the day, because I don't mind who is sitting next to me.
"They are the bosses, so they decide. I'm not a deciding factor in that."
