Hamilton suffers dramatic spin at German GP!
Lewis Hamilton spun his Mercedes midway through the sodden conditions in the German Grand Prix, as the drivers struggled to cope with the changing weather.
Hamilton skated off the track and clattered into the barrier, damaging his front wing, leading him to come into the pit lane and make repairs, costing him well over one minute of time.
The world champion also went to the wrong side of the bollard at the pit lane entrance, adding to his woes by picking up a five-second time penalty.
Just a lap previously Charles Leclerc, who was within striking distance of Hamilton in the lead of the race, also spun off and hit the barrier, being forced to retire.

The race had started in wet conditions but as the track dried out, yet with more rain forecast, teams were unsure what was the optimum tyre strategy to cope and it led to drivers struggling to keep control.
