Leclerc goes 'aggressive' to fix Ferrari hopes

Charles Leclerc hopes an aggressive approach will help him undo the damage done by Ferrari's nightmare qualifying for the German Grand Prix.

Leclerc will start 10th at Hockenheim, with team-mate Sebastian Vettel in last place after both encountered mechanical issues during Saturday's action.

Saturdays have not always been kind to Ferrari this season and Leclerc made similar vows after a strategy blunder eliminated him from Q1 in Monaco.

On that occasion, a racy Leclerc had to retire after colliding with the barriers, but he will take the fighting mindset once again at Hockenheim.

He said: "It's sad. We knew that we could challenge for pole also it's unfortunate that we at least couldn't challenge. I'll push now to have a good race.

"Tomorrow I'm going in with a positive mindset. I will be very aggressive in the first part and pass as many cars as we can and see where we end up.

"It's difficult to get forward, we were targeting the win so it's going to be more difficult to get that.

"It felt really bad for Seb at first and then when we had my problem it was even worse. It's a shame for the whole but I'll be pushing very hard tomorrow to make them happy again."
