Hamilton isn't unbeatable, Bottas says after France thrashing
Valtteri Bottas maintains that Lewis Hamilton is "unbeatable" after the championship leader opened up a huge lead over his Mercedes team-mate with a dominant victory at the French Grand Prix. Hamilton has begun clicking through the gears in recent races and is now 36 points ahead of Bottas in the standings.
Bottas won two of the first four races to suggest that he would push Hamilton all the way, but the Briton has won the last four and betting against him to take a sixth world title this year already looks foolish.
The Finn failed to lay a glove on Hamilton in qualifying or the race at Paul Ricard, finishing 18 seconds down the road.
However, he remains confident that he can get the better of Hamilton in the races to come, despite many of his team-mate's favourite circuits on the horizon.
"Not that much happening from my side," Bottas said. "The start was the best bet for me, but Lewis had a good start as well.
"Ultimately Lewis was quicker today. I couldn't really match his pace so that is something for me to look at before the next one.
"But I'm proud of the team and myself. It's just important to understand what I can do better for next time.
"He was really strong and consistent today and also yesterday in qualifying, but he's not unbeatable, I know that so I just need to work hard."
