Vettel called to stewards over Bahrain qualifying incident

Vettel called to stewards over Bahrain qualifying incident

Sebastian Vettel could be set to receive punishment from the stewards at the Bahrain International Circuit after being called in to see them for allegedly driving too slowly during an in-lap in the qualifying for the Bahrain GP on Saturday.

The German had a mixed time during qualifying as he finished second after being bested to pole position by rookie team-mate Charles Leclerc.

The alleged unnecessarily slow driving occurred in Q1, but with no other driver hampered, it is unlikely that Vettel will receive any fines or a grid penalty for the incident.

A similar situation happened last year during qualifying for the United States GP as Valtteri Bottas and Esteban Ocon were called in to see the stewards for the exact same offence as Vettel is being accused of in Bahrain.

On that occasion, the pair escaped penalties, so it is likely the German will too.

Who will win the Bahrain GP?
