Vettel will miss Ferrari "spirit" after Aston Martin switch
Sebastian Vettel has said he will miss the "spirit" of Ferrari when he leaves for Aston Martin at the end of the year.
Vettel has struggled for pace during his Scuderia swansong and has registered just two points from the past seven races compared to the 40 of team-mate Charles Leclerc.
Asked what aspect of the team he will miss the most, Vettel replied, "I think in the end, it’s like a relationship so I’ll miss the people.
"The spirit, I think the idea of Ferrari, the legend, I’ve obviously been a fan since I was a child, being inspired by Michael. But I think when you’re part of it and you get to know the people, you get to see behind the scenes, so to say, and I think it’s going to be the people.
"But the good news is that I will still see some of them regularly next year, even if it’s in a different way. But still, the people will remain."
Racing Point currently sits 31 points above Ferrari in the constructors' championship with four races still to go, although Vettel contributed just 18 of the team's 103 points.
The four-time champion insisted he would give everything to ensure he hits the ground running at his new team ahead of his first season.
"I think, obviously, ’21 should be similar in terms of the cars to this year," he added.
"It will be a big challenge for me to get on top of everything so I guess come January, February, I’m going to throw myself into the project and try to make sure I have understood all of the things that are there to be understood before the driving, the testing and the racing starts.
"I don’t think there’s one particular thing to be honest, or one particular person, I think it would be getting to know the whole team and the rhythm they’re working on, trying to establish the differences and trying to contribute to make things better."
