Ferrari the loser from Vettel-Leclerc crash - Horner
Christian knows all about this!
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner said Ferrari will end up as the main loser of continued squabbles between Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc, which culminated in the pair's collision at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Tensions have simmered between Leclerc and Vettel through much of the season, but bubbled over in Brazil as their wheels touched and caused significant damage, forcing both to retire.
It left Ferrari stewing over a first double DNF since the Singapore GP in 2017, but the team have said that clear-the-air talks have been held between Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto and the drivers.
Horner himself has had to deal with several similar issues in his tenure as Red Bull boss, many of them involving Vettel in his time there.
Although wary of delving too deep into the situation, Horner certainly hinted at sympathy with his opposite number Binotto.
"It depends on the scenario and each team has a different approach, and different people have different approaches, so it's difficult for me to judge Ferrari's situation," said Horner
"But the loser is always the team in that situation. Obviously it is a tricky one.
"I'm glad it's not my drivers. It's always a difficult situation.
"Race drivers are fiercely competitive animals, and there is often a conflict between what is right for the team and what is right for the individual."
