VIDEO: Times F1 qualifying was cancelled

VIDEO: Times F1 qualifying was cancelled

It remains to be seen if qualifying at the Japanese Grand Prix will go ahead as Suzuka bears the brunt of Typhoon Hagibis.

Saturday's action was cancelled amid safety concerns in Japan, with qualifying slated to take place on Sunday morning in Japan.

However, the session is not guaranteed, with organisers facing an epic task to put the circuit back together after it was put under lockdown to minimise damage during Saturday's storm.

If qualifying cannot be started, we already know the starting order, with Valtteri Bottas to start on pole after topping FP2, the order of which will be used to decide the grid.

F1 can generally be held in any conditions, but qualifying has had to be cancelled a few times in the past, as chronicled here by F1 Media.
