Steiner faces FIA investigation for Russian GP comments
Guenther Steiner has been summoned by stewards at the Japanese GP regarding comments made in the aftermath of the Russian Grand Prix last time out.
A penalty handed to Kevin Magnussen during the Sochi race for leaving the track and gaining an advantage left Steiner incensed and he told his driver over team radio "if it wasn't for a stupid, idiotic steward, we would be eighth".
Magnussen, for his part, called the decision "bullshit" after being classified ninth.
Reports have suggested that Steiner's punishment could be as harsh as a paddock ban at Suzuka.
Stewards in Suzuka reported that Steiner was under investigation for breaking regulations regarding "any fraudulent conduct or any act prejudicial to the interests of any competition or to the interests of motor sport generally" as well as "any words, deeds or writings that have caused moral injury or loss to the FIA, its bodies, its members or its executive officers".
